2 sticks butter, softened
1 cup sugar
tsp vanilla
beat these ingredients on high till fluffy and white
add:
1 egg
3 Tbs milk
beat well
stir in:
3 cups flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
mix well
Refigerate the dough for 1 hour, otherwise it's too floppy and sticky. Roll out on floured surface, (I use wax paper), cut with cookie cutters. Alternatively, you could roll the dough into a log and slice it. Don't make your cookies too thin or they'll be crispy. Bake at 400º for 8-9 min. They should still be white- if they are golden they are overcooked. Let them cool a few minutes, finish with a can of frosting and sprinkles. Now go and give some to your neighbors before you are overcome with temptation!
oh man, those look scrumptious!
ReplyDeleteI have NEVER gotten sugar cookies to work. This gives me hope that I might finally get it! I'll let you know what happens...
ReplyDeleteI told Braxton we could make cookies for valentines so I'm excited you gave this recipe. Although, I'm sure that they are not going to look nearly as nice as yours!
